A useful personal loan call starts with the customer's requirement. Understand what they need, ask a few relevant questions and agree on a clear next step.

For telecallers and small DSAs, the aim is to help a suitable customer complete an informed application. A strong script supports that conversation without promising approval or quoting an unverified rate.

Below are practical English and Hindi/Hinglish scripts for loan enquiries, customer screening, objections and follow-ups.

Replace the bracketed fields with accurate details. Use the callback opening only when the customer actually requested contact, and identify your company and role truthfully.

1. Opening Script for a Requested Callback

Hindi/Hinglish Script

“Namaste [Customer Name] ji, main [Your Name], [Company Name] se bol raha/rahi hoon. Aapne [actual enquiry source] par personal loan ke liye callback request kiya tha. Kya abhi do minute baat karna convenient hai?”

English Script

“Hello [Customer Name], this is [Your Name] from [Company Name]. You requested a callback about a personal loan through [actual enquiry source]. Is now a convenient time for a quick conversation?”

If they are busy, ask for a suitable callback time.

If they deny making an enquiry, apologise and verify the record before any further contact. If they decline further calls, record that preference.

Your opening should explain who you are and why you are calling without rushing the customer.

2. Understand the Customer's Requirement

Hindi/Hinglish Script

“Aapko approximately kitne amount ki requirement hai? Aur aap salaried hain ya self-employed? Isse mujhe samajhne mein help milegi ki kaunse available options relevant ho sakte hain.”

English Script

“What loan amount are you looking for, and are you salaried or self-employed? That will help me understand which available options may be relevant.”

Ask one question at a time. Allow the customer to explain their situation instead of rushing through a checklist.

If the customer asks about EMI immediately, explain that it depends on the amount, rate and tenure. Use an actual offer or clearly labelled illustration when discussing figures.

3. Ask These Screening Questions Before Suggesting a Lender

QuestionWhat it helps you understand
How much do you want to borrow? The customer's requirement
Are you salaried or self-employed?The relevant income assessment route
What is your monthly take-home income?A starting point for affordability
What are your existing monthly EMIs?Current repayment commitments
Which city do you live and work in?Location serviceability
Do you know your recent credit score or repayment issues?Possible eligibility concerns
Have you recently applied for another loan?Existing applications and duplication

Explain why you are asking.

For example:

“Existing EMI poochhne ka reason yeh hai ki current repayments ke saath nayi EMI ka impact samajh sakein.”

Collect sensitive documents only through the approved secure process. Never ask the customer to disclose an OTP, banking password or PIN to you.

4. Explain Possible Options Without Promising Approval

Hindi/Hinglish Script

“Aapne jo details batayi hain, unke basis par available lenders ki criteria check kar sakte hain. Final approval, amount aur rate lender ki verification ke baad confirm honge. Application se pehle main aapko process aur required documents explain kar deta/deti hoon.”

English Script

“Based on the details you have shared, we can check the available lenders' criteria. Final approval, amount and rate depend on the lender's assessment. Before you proceed, I will explain the process and required documents.”

Use the actual offer when discussing interest rate, processing charges, tenure, EMI and total repayment. A headline rate alone does not describe the full borrowing cost.

Explain any difference between the approved amount and the amount the customer will actually receive after applicable deductions.

5. Handle Common Customer Objections

“Interest Rate Bahut Zyada Hai.”

“Samajh sakta/sakti hoon. Rate ke saath processing fee, EMI aur total repayment bhi compare karte hain. Agar aapke paas doosra offer hai, toh same amount aur tenure par details dekh sakte hain.”

Do not promise a lower rate before a lender confirms it.

“Mujhe Bank Se Already Offer Mila Hai.”

“Bilkul, us offer ka rate, charges aur tenure check kar lijiye. Agar aap chahein, hum available alternative ke saath comparison samajhne mein help kar sakte hain.”

Respect the customer's choice if their existing offer meets their needs.

“Kya Loan Pakka Approve Ho Jayega?”

“Approval guarantee nahi kar sakte. Final decision lender ka hota hai. Hum profile aur documents check karke application process mein help kar sakte hain.”

Never describe an application under assessment as approved.

“Documents Kyun Chahiye?”

“Lender identity aur income verify karne ke liye documents maang sakta hai. Main aapko exact requirement aur approved upload process bata deta/deti hoon.”

Explain the specific document request instead of asking the customer to send everything they have.

“Mera CIBIL Score Kam Hai.”

“Score ke saath repayment history, income aur existing obligations bhi matter karte hain. Pehle available criteria check karte hain. Suitable option na ho toh main clearly bata dunga/dungi.”

Do not respond by submitting applications to several lenders without the customer's informed agreement.

“EMI Mere Budget Se Zyada Hai.”

“Samajh gaya/gayi. Amount aur available tenure ke options dekh sakte hain. Longer tenure se EMI kam ho sakti hai, lekin total interest badh sakta hai. Dono figures samajhkar hi decide kijiye.”

Do not pressure the customer to accept a repayment they are uncomfortable with.

“Abhi Loan Nahi Chahiye.”

“Theek hai, thank you. Main aapki preference update kar deta/deti hoon.”

End the sales conversation politely. Do not pressure the customer to borrow.

6. Close With One Agreed Next Step

Hindi/Hinglish Script

“Agar aap proceed karna chahte hain, main agreed channel par next steps bhej deta/deti hoon. Aap details review kar lijiye. Kya [day/time] par status ke liye callback theek rahega?”

English Script

“If you would like to proceed, I can send the next steps through the agreed channel. Please review the details first. Would [day/time] be convenient for a follow-up?”

A good call ends with clarity: what the customer will receive, what they need to do and when you will contact them again.

Record the agreed action immediately so the next conversation starts with the correct context.

7. WhatsApp Follow-Up Templates

Send these only where the customer has agreed to WhatsApp communication. Replace every placeholder and check the destination link.

After the First Conversation

“Namaste [Name] ji, main [Your Name], [Company] se. Aaj personal loan requirement par hui baat ke according, yeh next steps hain: [steps/authorised link]. Final offer lender verification ke baad confirm hoga. Koi process-related question ho toh bataiye.”

For a Pending Document

“Namaste [Name] ji, aapki application mein [document] pending hai. Please ise approved upload link [link] par submit karein. Agar upload mein issue aa raha hai toh bataiye. OTP, PIN ya banking password share na karein.”

For an Application Under Review

“Namaste [Name] ji, aapki application abhi lender review mein hai. Filhaal approval confirm nahi hua hai. Agla confirmed update milte hi main aapko inform karunga/karungi.”

For an Agreed Callback

“Namaste [Name] ji, humne [day/time] par personal loan application ke next steps discuss karne ki baat ki thi. Kya yeh time abhi bhi convenient hai? Agar nahi, toh apna suitable time bata dijiye.”

8. A Call-Quality Checklist for Team Leaders

Review whether the caller:

  • Introduced themselves and the company accurately.
  • Confirmed a convenient time to speak.
  • Understood the customer's requirement.
  • Asked relevant screening questions.
  • Explained only verified information.
  • Avoided approval and rate guarantees.
  • Agreed on a clear next step.
  • Recorded contact preferences correctly.

Measure qualified enquiries, completed applications and disbursals alongside call quality and customer feedback.

For daily practice, choose one objection and role-play it before calling begins. Review whether the response answered the customer's concern clearly.
